Endoscopy Maintenance

ALTHEA’s ISO13485- and ISO9001-certified workshop maintains more than 9,000 Olympus endoscopes, stack systems and associated devices every year from the 240, 260 and 290 series.  We are the leading independent provider of endoscopy maintenance services in the UK providing a high-quality, cost-effective alternative to the manufacturer.

Our Endoscopy workshop, including research and development laboratory, is a quality-controlled environment based in Southend-On-Sea (Essex) which repairs and maintains more than 9,000 devices a year on behalf of 300 NHS and private hospitals.

The facility is manned by 60 technical staff with over 500 years of combined experience in endoscope repairs.

Within our workshop we have the experience and expertise to maintain the earlier generation Olympus 240 series and 260 series devices as well as the latest 290 series instrumentation, stack systems and ancillary equipment.

We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of customer service and support.  Whilst our endoscopy client devices are away for maintenance, our value-added service includes the supply of a loan device against an incoming repair.  This service is available to our contract customers free of charge.

We have four levels of support helping you to find the perfect maintenance package and will work with you to determine the optimum service levels for each device:

  • Classic: limited cover to minor repairs and service work
  • Advantage: shared risk; covers all minor and middle repairs (does not cover major repairs)
  • Premium: all-inclusive of labour, parts and unlimited repairs + full function testing
  • Electromed: planned maintenance to each item of equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations; and performance tests and calibration
