Endoscope and electromed repair
Althea’s ISO13485- and ISO9001-certified endoscopy workshop maintains more than 9,000 Olympus endoscopes, stack systems and associated devices every year from the 240, 260 and 290 series. We are the leading independent provider of endoscopy maintenance services in the UK providing a high-quality, cost-effective alternative to the manufacturer.
Our endoscopy workshop, including research and development laboratory, is a quality-controlled environment based in Southend-On-Sea (Essex) which repairs and maintains more than 9,000 scopes a year on behalf of 300 NHS, HSE and and private hospitals. The facility is manned by 60 technical staff with over 500 years of combined experience in endoscope repairs.
We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of customer service and support. Whilst our endoscopy client devices are away for maintenance, our value-added service includes the supply of a loan device against an incoming repair. This service is available to our contract customers free of charge.
We have three standard levels of cover for scope repairs
as well as fully comprehensive and planned preventative only support for electromed – however bespoke solutions, including proactive battery replacements are available:
limited cover to minor repairs and service work
shared risk which covers all minor and middle repairs
In addition to a wide range of endoscopy repair and maintenance contracts, our fully comprehensive service offering includes:
- loan provision
- unlimited returns
- door-to-door collection and delivery
- periodic on-site checks
All of these services serve to maintain the customer’s asset uptime and availability.
Our flexible contracts can be tailored to meet the customer’s requirements by the selection of multi-year contracts which provide the added benefit of fixed costs with no hidden charges.
Our capability is further enhanced by the provision of a wide range of competitively priced rental equipment to support customers during busy periods without the need for capital investment. Althea also provides pre-owned endoscopy devices as cost-effective alternatives to new equipment. All pre-owned equipment is subjected to rigorous refurbishing and testing procedures and supplied with a warranty offering customers maximum protection.
Moreover, Althea’s highly experienced support specialists provide training, guidance and support with manual cleaning, automated reprocessing, endoscope construction and compliance with sector requirements all of which is focused on repair prevention and asset uptime.
