Community Diagnostic Centres
Working in partnership with the NHS we are committed to realisation of Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) in England, also known as Regional Treatment Centres (RTC) in Wales, which will play a vital part in the evolving healthcare landscape.
Community Diagnostic Centres
The coronavirus pandemic accelerated the requirement for technology enabled solutions to provide additional diagnostic capacity in the community, focused on joined-up care pathways through Integrated Care Systems (ICS).
The CDC programme launched by NHS England will change how diagnostic services are delivered in England, this follows recommendations in Professor Sir Mike Richard’s report of the independent review of Diagnostic Services, Diagnostics: Recovery and Renewal.
The CDC programme objectives:
- tackle the backlog of diagnostic testing
- reduce waiting times
- faster and more direct access to diagnostic tests
- enable patients to receive lifesaving checks closer to their homes
- reduction in hospital visits
- improve patient outcomes
By increasing the NHS capacity, CDCs will transform the out-of-hospital experience in support of the NHS Long Term Plan.
An Althea Partnered Community Diagnostic Centre
Althea provides the NHS with resource and capability to build its own long-term solutions including provision of facility infrastructure, technology, and equipment.
Design and Build
Althea in partnership with the NHS will provide end-to-end programme management support to deliver a high-quality facility.
Our experienced in-house design and implementation team we will work with your estates, clinical, finance, and wider ICS stakeholders to build bespoke and flexible solutions that meet specific needs of the local population. Facilities can be provided through remodelling of existing NHS estate, commercial properties, new build, or any combination of all three.
Our CDC model ensures that the NHS remains in control, supported by the expertise and capability of an infrastructure partner. Our approach for the CDC programme is to use our strengths and capability as a vendor neutral business to co-create and deliver the right plan for each NHS collaboration.
Working together Althea will ensure implementation and standardisation of processes and data to optimise operational performance and provide smooth integration with all systems.
We will ensure the facility is available and provides the valuable resources required to expand the diagnostic capacity in your ICS, providing the long-term benefit of a fully supported facility.
As your technology and infrastructure partner we will deliver a holistic asset management service that helps the healthcare provider ensure a compliant and high-quality clinical service.
We are proud of our reputation working with the NHS to provide practical technology solutions that bring efficiencies and support high quality clinical care.
