Robert Tanner, Field Service Engineer
Rob started his career with us in 2011 as a Service Centre Administrator logging equipment faults from customers and proactively ensuring the expedient repair of medical equipment at managed service customer sites. In 2013 he became an Operations Co-ordinator directly dispatching in-house multi-vendor field service engineers and guaranteeing the prompt dispatch of spare parts from our UK facility.
This change in role was part of Rob’s personal development plan and ambition to become a Field Service Engineer. ALTHEA paid for the appropriate courses and allowed Rob the necessary time to go back to college. In 2015, Rob successfully received his BTEC in Electrical Engineering to become a Trainee Field Service Engineer and is currently in the last year of his HNC in Electrical Engineering whilst receiving OEM-certified and in-house training at ALTHEA’s Centre Of Excellence in Reading (Berkshire).
“The time I spent talking directly to customers made me understand how important our maintenance services were in supporting patient outcomes – going the extra mile to make sure equipment was repaired and back in service as soon as possible. ALTHEA continues to support my career aspirations and has Centres Of Excellence across Europe where I can hone my skills across multiple vendors and modalities. In the UK we have three live MR scanners which allow me to supplement my college courses with continuous training. I simply wouldn’t get the same opportunities anywhere else.”
We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer to expand our MRI Team in the UK. This role will provide the right candidate with a unique opportunity to develop your MRI skills further by working on the latest industry leading MRI systems, and associated technology.
