Chief Executive Officer
Alessandro started his career in Exxon Mobil, where he held various senior managerial roles over the years. In 2004, Alessandro was a founder and CEO of D&D MedCom, operating in development of biomedical services.
In the period 2015-2016 he held the position of CEO of Ingegneria Biomedica Santa Lucia S.p.A., clinical engineering service provider in Italy.
A merger with three other biomedical technology companies led to the launch of Higèa, a leading operator in the sector, where Alessandro held the position of Chairman & CEO.
In 2016, he was appointed as CEO of Pantheon Healthcare Group, since rebranded as Althea.

Massimo Sala
Chief Financial Officer & CIO
Massimo brings over 25 years of financial management experience across international industrial groups and listed companies. His career has developed through senior roles in strategic industries including energy, construction & building materials, infrastructure, and aviation.
From 2012 to 2024, Massimo served as Group Chief Financial Officer at major listed Italian industrial companies, including Cementir Holding S.p.A. (2012-2018) and Trevi Finanziaria Industriale (2019-2024), gaining deep expertise in complex operations and corporate transformation processes.
His professional background includes also significant international experience as Chief Financial Officer at EPCG-Elektroprivreda Crne Gore in Montenegro (2010-2012), where he contributed as an expat manager of A2A Group. He has also held key positions at Gianni Versace S.p.A., Aeroporti di Roma SpA, Edipower SpA and Edison SpA, where he began his career as Group Controller & Investor Relations Manager.
Massimo graduated from Università Bocconi and completed his management education at INSEAD with the Young Manager Program in General Management (1994).

and Marketing Director
Rafael has been part of Althea’s management team since January 2017. He’s responsible for the group’s Commercial, Marketing and business activities worldwide. He started his professional career as a consultant for IT systems and business strategy for several US consulting firms operating in Spain. Joining Dräger Medical Spain as IT Manager in 2000, he became Services Manager in 2005, developing dedicated OEM and multi-vendor services. Moving to European Division of Dräger Healthcare services in 2010 Rafael extended his experience also in safety area and hospital consumables & accessories.
Group Human Resources Director
Nicola is the former Human Resources Director of the TBS Group. Over 20 years heading business and corporate HR departments in the healthcare sector have given him deep knowledge and a strong foundation. This experience provides a basis for his proactive approach to managing human resources in technology environments.
Ilaria Ricci
General Counsel
Ilaria is a lawyer specialized in corporate and commercial, M&A, banking and finance, private equity and capital market.
With 25 years of experience, she practised in leading Italian and internation law firms, including Gianni & Origoni, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and Kleyr Grasso in Luxembourg, enrolled both in the Italian and Luxembourg Bar. She is corporate partner of the Italian law firm LTL Advisors.
As PhD and adjunct Professor, she carries out academic teaching and research activities in the field of Comparative Law and EU Law.
With her extensive expertise in advising national and international companies on corporate, regulatory and financial matters, Ilaria brings integrated and innovative legal support driving Althea’s governance and sustainable growth.
